On Thursday, March 11, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis sent a letter of congratulations to Andrius Kubilius, Prime Minister of Lithuania on the occasion of the 20th anniversary since the restoration of independence in Lithuania.
The Prime Minister emphasizes that the events of March 11, 1990 in Lithuania were the basis for the restoration of a democratic society and sovereign state in Lithuania. Latvia will also celebrate the restoration of country’s independence on May 4. ”We see similar history and values of the two countries and people and it creates basis for friendly relations”, emphasizes V.Dombrovskis.
In his letter of congratulations, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis wishes the Prime Minister of Lithuania successful work in the future, as well as close future cooperation between both countries at bilateral, as well as regional level.
