On Wednesday 17 January, Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis participated in a seminar organized by the Confederation of Spanish Entrepreneurs in Madrid with a focus on economic cooperation between Latvia and Spain.
On Monday 15 January, Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis held a meeting with Lars Lokke Rasmussen, Prime Minister of Denmark in Rīga. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, security issues and economic cooperation.

On Friday 8 December, Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis opened the business forum hosted by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in Tokyo, as well as met with Hiroyuki Ishige, Chairman of JETRO.
On Friday 8 December, Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis met with Ken Matsuzawa, President of the International Friendship Exchange Council in Tokyo, as well as with managers of leading Japanese companies who are interested in opportunities for business development in Latvia.
As a result of effective representation of state’s interests, Latvia has recovered litigation costs of 1.28 million euros from Indrek Kuivallik, which incurred during the international arbitration proceedings in "Winergy" case, and these funds have been transferred to the state budget.
The Government approved the regulations of the Suprainstitutional Coordination Council of the Rail Baltica project in Rīga at the sitting of the Cabinet of Ministers of 7 November with a view to involve competent authorities and other stakeholders in the implementation of the Rail Baltica project in Rīga, thus contributing to the comprehensive and smooth development of the project-related territory.
The Third Action Plan for Open Government Partnership of Latvia will promote public participation in decision-making, progress towards "zero bureaucracy", as well as the strengthening of ethical values in public administration and transparency in decision-making, procurement procedures and state-owned capital companies.
