Latvia and Estonia share a common history, future and close cooperation at all levels. This was emphasized by Prime Minister Evika Siliņa during her meeting with the Prime Minister of Estonia Kristen Michal. This was the first working visit of the Estonian Prime Minister to Latvia.
The Heads of Government discussed security challenges and the support to Ukraine, economic cooperation between the two countries and priorities in the EU's multiannual budget process, as well as the progress of the Rail Baltica project.
"Latvia and Estonia share a common history and future and, unfortunately, common security challenges. Today we were presented with the latest developments in the field of defence technologies at the Ādaži military base, and we are proud to say that Latvia and the Baltic States are at the forefront in this field. We both confirmed our readiness to work together to coordinate the progress of the Rail Baltica project and to represent our common interests in the next multiannual budget of the European Union. We continue to work closely together at almost all levels and are committed to strengthening security and prosperity throughout the Baltic region."
The Prime Minister and the Estonian Prime Minister also visited the NATO Digital Experiment event at the Ādaži military base.
