On Friday 9 December, Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis will hold a meeting with Prime Minister of Estonia Jüri Ratas in Rīga. This will be the first visit of the Estonian Prime Minister to Rīga. Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis will also chair the working session of the Prime Ministers' Council of the Baltic Council of Ministers.
The Baltic Council of Ministers' meeting will bring together Prime Minister of Estonia Jüri Ratas and Prime Minister of Lithuania Algirdas Butkevičius.
During the Baltic Prime Ministers' meeting, the officials intend to discuss current developments in the Baltic States, incl. to consider the transport and energy infrastructures, security and current external relations.
The Baltic Council of Ministers (BCM) is an institution for governmental co-operation between Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. It was established on 13 June 1994. The meeting of the Heads of Government, held at least once a year, is highest decision making body of the Baltic Council of Ministers. This year, Latvia holds the chairmanship of the BCM.
