This year, Latvia has been entrusted with the organisation of key events in cooperation between Central and Eastern European countries and China, or the 16+1 format. On 16–17 May, Riga already hosted the first 16+1 Transport Ministers’ meeting, during which a Secretariat on logistics cooperation was also inaugurated. On 14 October, national coordinators from the 16+ 1 countries gathered at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On 4 November, Riga will host a discussion of representatives from think tanks, and on 5 November – of sinologists.
The main event in the 16+ 1 format – the fifth Meeting of Heads of Government – will take place in Riga on 5 November. The summit will be back-to-back with a 16+1 Business Forum.
Special media accreditation is required to attend both events.
Media representatives interested in covering the 16+1 Meeting of Heads of Government and the 16+ 1 Business Forum are asked to register their participation online at http://ceec-china-latvia.org/.
Registration for these events is open until 31 October 2016. Applying for accreditation after this date and participation in the events without obtaining accreditation will not be possible.
For information
16+1 Meeting of Heads of Government will take place in the Latvian National Library (LNB) at Mūkusalas iela 3. Please note that, except for the joint press conference of the Heads of Government, participation in other TV and photo opportunities at the LNB (including arrivals and handshakes, and the family photo) must be indicated for each event separately by putting a mark against your choice in the accreditation system.
16+1 Business Forum will be held at Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija (Elizabates iela 55), and the accredited media representatives are welcome to attend the whole event or any of its parts.
