On 17 April, during the EP plenary session in Strasbourg, France, Krišjānis Kariņš, Prime Minister of the Republic of Latvia, will address the members of the European Parliament (MEPs) on the future of the European Union (EU).

Prime Minister Kariņš has been invited to share his vision of the future of the EU with MEPs by the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani. Krišjānis Kariņš will address plenary and then debate the future of Europe with MEPs. After the plenary session, Prime Minister Kariņš and EP President Tajani will hold a joint press conference.

Prime Minister Kariņš' address is a part of series of future of Europe debate between EU heads of state or governments and MEPs, following on from German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron.
