On Thursday, March 3, within the framework of his visit to Lithuania, Prime Minister Māris Kučinskis visited the Latvian factory Sakret - one of the largest manufacturers of dry construction mixtures in the sector.

“This company demonstrates very well the maturity and growth potential of economic relations between Latvia and Lithuania,” said the Prime Minister after the visit to Sakret. He recalled that Lithuania is Latvia’s largest trading partner and one of its major investors, and that operation of this business is a considerable contribution to both economies. "I am truly delighted with the economic capacity of our countries and the expertise of our entrepreneurs to successfully carry forward competitive projects in the international community," said the Prime Minister.

During his visit to Lithuania, the Prime Minister repeatedly expressed satisfaction to the neighbouring colleagues for the good economic cooperation and called on both Latvians and Lithuanians to use each other’s potential even more actively.

Sakret - a dry construction mixtures factory in Lithuania, is the largest in the Baltic countries and was opened in 2008 with an investment of 10 million euros in its construction. The modern factory is one of Latvia’s major investments in Lithuania. The company is one of the first manufacturers in the Baltic States to develop a new perspective on conventional construction materials by offering industrially-prepared mixtures.

It is also notable that the company invests resources in the Latvian education system in cooperation with universities, and by providing the students with both practical and theoretical knowledge.
