On Thursday 12 September, Prime Minister Evika Siliņa was awarded the Ukrainian State Award – Order of Princess Olga, First Class, presented to her by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, within the framework of her visit to Ukraine.
The Order of Princess Olga was established in 1997, and is bestowed to women for personal merits in state, scientific, educational, cultural, social and other areas.
E. Siliņa expressed gratitude for the award and emphasised that she considers it as a tribute to the whole Latvian nation and especially to the women leaders who continue to support Ukraine in its fight for freedom. "It is important for the people of Latvia that Ukrainian children, women and the whole nation can live in freedom and peace, without fear for the life and health of themselves and their loved ones," said E. Siliņa.
